![]() When I pulled up something from the Punk Pack, it sounded Punk.an Odd-ish time track from the Progressive Pack, it sounded authentic yet again. When I pulled up something from the Power Rock Pack, it sounded like it was Power Rock. My latest project for a friend had me creating drum tracks in the heavier end of the spectrum, it was mostly Hard Rock / Metal-ish with 2 everyday Rock style tracks. These GM loops are what they say they are! Let me explain. something struck me during a recent mixing session. Mega Pack delivers the goods and then some. I bought one or two packs "a-la-carte" a year or so back - After I found that most of the grooves I gravitated towards were Groove Monkee I figured why mess around. Only I don't have a sweaty drummer asking me to turn the click track up. I have recorded some of the top session players back in the late 90's - and that is the vibe I get, real, honest and solid. And they really work well for all genres. Groove Monkee either uses the most awesomely versatile drummer on the planet or they use different performers to suit the styles. I have some of the competitors MIDI files but they sound like they recorded the same drummer for all styles and some sound a bit too perfect for my taste. Nice pocket grooves, or fills that push into the next section, only the way "Real" drummers do. If you want to quantize you can, but I prefer to leave it natural. Groove Monkee is ALWAYS the "go to" first.īest Grooves - unquantized - sounds so much more like recording a real drummer.
